In Zhambyl region, World War II veteran Rakhimzhan Sampaldyuly Mamyraliyev celebrated his centenary.
Children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, fellow villagers, representatives of local executive bodies and military administration gathered at the veteran's house in the village of Zhetybay, Baizak district, to congratulate the veteran on his centenary.
Employees of the Department of Defense Affairs sent a congratulatory letter to the veteran on behalf of the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov. In the letter, the head of the country's defense department expressed gratitude to Rakhimzhan Mamyraliyev for his selflessness and heroism on the front. The congratulatory letter noted that for modern defenders of the Fatherland, the veteran is an example of a person who faithfully performed his military duty.
Akim of the Baizak district Olzhas Bakkarayev, on behalf of the regional leadership, thanked the veteran for his contribution to the victory in the post-war years and his loyal work.
In the village of Zhetybay, the military orchestra of the "South" regional command continued the solemn celebration of the centenary of the veteran. Rakhimzhan Sampaldyuly, having heard familiar marches and compositions, applauded the military musicians. Reserve servicemen and service officers living in the Baizak district marched in a solemn march in honor of the veteran and his guests.
Rakhimzhan Mamyraliyev was drafted into the army at the age of eighteen. In 1943, he traveled to the Far East and fought against the Japanese invaders. Senior Sergeant Rakhimzhan Mamyraliyev, commander of the artillery platoon, participated in the liberation of Primorsk, Voroshilov, Manchuria and the Korean Peninsula from the Japanese. The fighter was discharged from the army only in 1951 and returned to Zhambyl region, where he is now with his loved ones.
