INTERIM RESULTS: 79 THOUSAND APPLICANTS TOOK THE UNT IN JANUARY IN TWO WEEKS

THE MINISTER OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION OF THE RK HELD OFFICIAL MEETINGS WITH THE HEADS OF LEADING UNIVERSITIES OF THE UNITED KINGDOM
From January 23 to 25, 2025, a delegation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, led by Minister Sayasat Nurbek, visited a number of higher education institutions in the United Kingdom as part of a working visit. During the visit, the Minister held meetings with the heads of leading higher education institutions, including Cardiff, Glasgow and Heriot-Watt Universities.
On January 23, Sayasat Nurbek visited Cardiff University and held talks with the President of the University, Wendy Larner. The parties discussed strengthening cooperation in the field of scientific research and academic exchanges, as well as the prospects for implementing joint educational programs.
On January 24, a visit was made to the University of Glasgow, one of the leading universities of the Russell Group. Plans for further development of cooperation in the field of higher education were discussed during the meeting. The University of Glasgow has expressed its intention to open a branch at one of the Kazakh universities, which will be an important step in the development of international educational partnerships.
On January 25, the Minister visited Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, a long-term partner of the Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov. Current projects and opportunities for expanding cooperation in the field of scientific research and educational initiatives were discussed.
During the visit, special attention was paid to demonstrating the research potential of universities, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
The Minister also met with Kazakh students studying under the international program "Bolashak", as well as foreign students, and spoke at a meeting of the Central Asian Students' Association at the University of Edinburgh. In his speech, he noted the importance of internationalizing education and science as key factors for the sustainable development of Kazakhstan, and also called on students to actively participate in the development of scientific initiatives.
The working visit of Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was an important step in strengthening international cooperation in the field of science and higher education between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom.
