A meeting of the heads of the water and energy departments of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent.
The meeting considered the draft Roadmap for the stages of attracting financing and implementation mechanisms for the "Construction of Kambarata HPP-1" project.
As noted by the Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sungat Yesimkhanov, the project of a hydroelectric power station on the Naryn River with a capacity of 1860 MW will become one of the largest projects in Central Asia and will contribute to the further development of good-neighborly relations between the countries of the Central Asian region.
Currently, within the framework of technical assistance from the World Bank, measures are being taken to prepare a feasibility study. This includes assessing the technical, economic, financial, environmental and social components of the Kambarata HPP-1 project, as well as carrying out other key activities and studies necessary for its further implementation.
