In his Address to the Nation, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to pay special attention to the medium-term repair of highways. The Head of State noted that this program covers 2.5 thousand kilometers of interregional and interdistrict highways regularly used by passengers.
"The program for the medium-term repair of interregional and interdistrict roads, which stretches for 2.5 thousand kilometers, is of great importance. It is these roads that people travel most often. Therefore, I instruct to expand the scope of the program and cover at least 10 thousand kilometers of roads. Of course, quality is more important here than quantity. For this, it is advisable to widely use innovative modern methods and approaches. It is advisable to launch a single digital platform to strengthen public control over this work. It should contain information on the construction and repair of all roads, including those within the city,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
In 2024, the bridge over the Bogas River at the entrance to the village of Kindikty in Abay region, the water supply structures of the Zharbulak and Klyuchiki-Uba-zastava district roads, and the bridge on Barak Batyr Street in the city of Ayagoz were renovated.
As part of general transfers, medium repairs were carried out on 6 sections of regional significance, totaling 60 kilometers. These include the sections Shar-Auezov, Ayagoz-Karaul-Semey-Kainar, Kokpekty-Preobrazhenka, Petropavlovka-Shelekhova-Dmitrievka.
In addition, 17 sections of district highways with a total length of 90.4 kilometers were repaired. In the regional center, Semey, 40 streets with a total length of 37.8 kilometers were repaired.
Deputy Akim of Abay region Dimitriy Garikov said that road repairs will continue in 2025. It is planned that 7 sections of regional highways will be covered with medium repairs.
"Medium repairs are a strategic task set by the Head of State. It is planned to repair 109 kilometers of regional highways. Of these, repairs will be carried out on the sections Ayagoz-Karaul-Semey-Kainar, Borodulikha-Zhezkent, Dmitrievka-Borodulikha-regional border, Semey-Dolon-Beskaragai-Yernazar-Koyanbay, Makanshi-Zhalanashkol, Semey-Karaul. In addition, the repairs will cover 12 sections of regional highways with a total length of 113.7 kilometers. "We will continue to actively implement the program of medium repair of highways, which is important for the population and economy of the region," said Deputy Akim of the region Dimitriy Garikov.
Street repair work will continue in the region. Within the framework of the "Aul - El Besigi" program, medium repair of streets in settlements with a total length of 63.3 kilometers is planned. In Semey, medium repair work will be carried out on streets with a total length of 55 kilometers.
