The successful experience of the city of Saran in the Karaganda region in diversifying the economy was cited as an example. The former mono-city began to collect significant tax revenues. This was possible thanks to the development of the industrial zone.
- Akims of cities and districts, together with specialized departments, must constantly work to increase the tax base, develop business, attract new investments, and reduce infrastructure gaps. For example, in the city of Saran, the economy has been fully diversified due to the support of new and existing industries. Last year, 21.4 billion tenge of taxes and payments were received by the state budget. Of these, 7.2 billion went to the republican budget, 14.2 billion to the local budget, half of which went to the city budget to solve key problems, - said Deputy Akim of the region Yermek Alpysov at the regional asset council to discuss the implementation of the tasks set by the Head of State at an expanded meeting of the Government.
He noted that one of the growth points in the region will be the creation of a metallurgical cluster near Temirtau. State support for new SME projects is provided, including subsidies from the local budget.
And a silicon cluster can be created in the Saryarka SEZ.
The deputy akim of the region also spoke about the development of small industrial zones. These are areas where local producers can place their workshops on preferential terms. This year, it is planned to open two small industrial zones in Karaganda and one in Saran. Similar areas are being developed in Temirtau - on the basis of Karmet Service and in Shakhtinsk - on the basis of a synthetic detergent plant that has been idle for many years.
Regional akim Yermaganbet Bolekpayev instructed to create small industrial zones in other cities and districts and carry out work to restore idle production.
