✔️The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of our country Nurzhan Nurzhigitov got acquainted with the state of water reservoirs in the region during his working visit to the Turkestan region. The Minister discussed the technical condition and current issues of the "Koksaray" water regulator facility with the Governor of the Turkestan region Nuralkhan Kusherov. The planned work on the construction and reconstruction of water management systems and structures was also presented.
✔️The total design water volume of the "Koksaray" water regulator is 3.0 billion m3. The technical condition of the facilities included in the KSR complex has decreased. Currently, due to the large amount of runoff, it is not possible to collect more than 1.5 billion cubic meters of water. In order to solve the problem, a GSR was developed by order of the Water Resources Committee of the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The project is planned to be implemented in 3 stages.
⤵️There are 16 reservoirs in the Turkestan region. The volume of water collected there is 5148 million m3. m3.
✔️The construction of the "Baydibek Ata" reservoir is underway. The length of the dam is 1.75 kilometers, the height is 26 meters. The reservoir will collect spring flood waters and send additional water to the "Bogen" reservoir during the irrigation season. The main water source of the "Baydibek Ata" reservoir is the Bogen River. According to hydrological calculations, the average annual flow of the river reaches 165 million cubic meters. That is, it is very important to collect this water and use it for the needs of the population.
📌In accordance with the Ministry's Concept for the Development of the Water Resources Management System for 2024-2030, the "Baydibek Ata" and "Boraldai" reservoirs will be built in the Turkestan region. The two facilities will allow supplying an additional 113 million cubic meters of water to the "Bogen" reservoir. Thus, it is planned to solve the problem of running water in the territory of the city of Turkestan.
📌Work will continue in the region to increase the volume of irrigated land, increase the efficiency of reservoirs and canals, and introduce water-saving technologies.
