Riyadh, August 24, 2026 – Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Madiyar Menilbekov held a meeting with Vice-Minister of Industry and Mineral Recourses of the Kingdom Khalid Al-Mudaifer.

During the negotiations, the parties highly noted the outcomes of the Saudi delegation’s visit to Kazakhstan in June 2026 to participate in the 16^th International Congress and Exhibition “Astana Mining & Metallurgy”, as well as the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of rare earth metals between the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which laid the foundation for further development of cooperation in the mining sector.

In this regard, the importance of continuing practical cooperation between the relevant government authorities, national companies and business communities of the two countries, as well as implementing joint initiatives in the exploration, extraction and processing of mineral resources, was emphasized.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their interest in further strengthening Kazakhstan-Saudi cooperation and advancing promising projects in the mining sector, including in the field of critical minerals.
