✔️ First of all, the minister familiarized himself with the condition of the central collector and drainage canal "Myrzashol" in the Maktaaral district. This facility, located on the border of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, was put into operation in 1930 and is intended for the removal of drainage water from agricultural lands. The total length of the canal is 84.7 km, of which 56.15 km pass through the territory of Kazakhstan (26.85 km in Maktaaral District, 29.30 km in Zhetysai District). Flow capacity - 120 m³/sec. Every year, about 122 million m³ of drainage water is discharged from Kazakhstan into the "Myrzashol" canal. The minister answered the questions of the citizens. The capacity of the reservoir is 2,927 m³/s, the total volume is 5.2 billion m³, the length of the dam is 5 km. The total project volume of water is 3 billion m³. However, due to the weakening of the structures of the Koksarai complex, it is currently impossible to accumulate more than 1.5 billion m³ of water due to the high level of groundwater. In order to solve the problem, a design and estimate document was developed on behalf of the Committee of Water Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The implementation of the project is planned in three stages.
📌 On the same day, the minister visited the Otrar district, where he got acquainted with the work of the cotton processing plant "Altyn Dala Makta". As part of the creation of a cotton cluster in the special economic zone "Turkestan", the construction of five factories is planned: textile, spinning, dyeing, sewing and PVC-pipe production enterprise. After completion of the project 9.7 thousand. hectares of irrigated land along the canal will be provided with a stable water supply. The reservoir is being built at the confluence of the Balabogen and Ulkenbogen rivers.
📌 Having reviewed the progress of work in the region, Nurzhan Nurzhigitov instructed the district akims and responsible specialists not to slow down the pace of work and set specific tasks.
