This was announced at a briefing by Bakhyt Ismakhanbetov, director of the Turkestan region branch of the Social Medical Insurance Fund (SMIF).
“The budget amount received by the Fund in the healthcare sector in the Turkestan region in 2024 within the framework of the Social Medical Insurance Fund (SMIF) and the Social Medical Insurance Fund (SMIF) amounted to 235.9 billion tenge. Of this, 117.7 billion tenge went to the Social Medical Insurance Fund (SMIF) package, and 118.2 billion tenge went to the Social Medical Insurance Fund (SMIF) package. In total, 184 medical organizations provided services to the region’s residents last year. 141 of them are private institutions. Today, 1.7 million residents of the Turkestan region are insured in the Social Medical Insurance Fund (SMIF) system. It is worth noting that 35.5 billion tenge was spent on inpatient medical care, 15 billion tenge on consultative and diagnostic services, 978.2 million tenge on high-tech surgeries, 7.6 billion tenge on medical rehabilitation, 4.8 billion tenge on dental services, and 16.8 billion tenge on outpatient medication. Residents also received daily visits from specialized specialists, various tests, and diagnostic services such as CT and MRI. For example, last year, the region's population received 151 thousand MRI and CT scans worth 2.5 billion tenge," said Bakhyt Torgaibayuly.
According to the speaker, surgeries are performed free of charge for citizens insured in the system at the expense of the MOSHI. Of these, more than 3 thousand cardiac surgeries were performed for 4.2 billion tenge, more than 1,000 neurosurgical surgeries for 2.3 billion tenge, about 1,000 ENT surgeries and electromagnetic hearing aids were installed for 419.8 million tenge.
In addition, more than 100 knee and hip replacement surgeries were performed for 235.6 million tenge, more than 1,000 vascular and neurovascular surgeries for 916.8 million tenge, and 16 kidney and liver transplants for 80.4 million tenge. The cost of one surgery is approximately 5-10 million tenge.
