Sports-loving citizens of the Zhetisay district paid tribute to Birzhan Shaimerden, the World Nomad Games and World Champion in classical belt wrestling, and his relatives rode him on a horse. The village elders gave their blessings and wished victory in the upcoming grand competitions.
The event was attended by the akim of Zhetysay district Serik Mamytov and deputy of the Turkestan regional maslikhat Talgat Karzhauov, the chairman of the Zhetysay district maslikhat Medet Kasymov and the executive secretary of the Zhetysay district branch of the "AMANAT" party Askar Kaynazarov, relatives and friends of the champion.
The district head wished success to the champion who is making the country's name known around the world, and presented a gift to the athlete and his grandfather Shaimerden aksakal.
It should be noted that Shaimerden Birzhan Idrissuly was born in 1996 in Zhetysay, Maktaaral district, South Kazakhstan region.
In his sports career, Birzhan Idrissuly became the bronze medalist of the 2015 Universiade of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Greco-Roman wrestling, the 7-time champion of the Republic of Kazakhstan in belt wrestling, and the 2020 Iranian National Championship in Tehran, Iran. World champion in wrestling, bronze medalist of the Grand Prix tournament in belt wrestling held in Bishkek in 2023, bronze medalist of the World Cup held in Krasnodar in 2024, World champion in the belt wrestling tournament held in Kazan, Russian Federation, champion of the World Nomad Games, holder of the titles of Master of Sports of the International Class. By the decree of the Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Erbol Myrzabosynov, he was awarded the medal "For Meritorious Labor" last year.
