On December 4, Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva held a meeting with an Italian delegation consisting of Director of the Central Institute of Restoration of the Italian Ministry of Culture Oliva Luigi, Italian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Alberti Marco, as well as representatives of cultural and educational institutions of Italy.
The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of culture and the possibility of exchanging experience in the preservation of cultural heritage.
In particular, they discussed the creation of a Restoration Center on the basis of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Minister noted that this Center will become a key area of cooperation, contributing to the development of restoration activities and the preservation of national heritage.
Aida Balayeva stressed the importance of sharing knowledge in this area, noting that the Italian experience can significantly contribute to the development of museum business, especially in the field of restoration.
"Today, relations between Kazakhstan and Italy have reached a new high level. I would like to express my gratitude for the joint work that demonstrates the strong ties between our countries. One of the key areas of our cooperation is the creation of a Restoration Center on the basis of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. We see this as an important step in the development of restoration activities. Restoration is important to us in all areas. For the successful functioning of the Center, it is necessary to create an appropriate regulatory framework. The National Museum should become a center of practical skills. The museum has interesting artifacts and exhibits that certainly require restoration work. We strive to ensure that this is done by professional specialists who will be able to transfer their experience to students. Your knowledge and advice will have an important impact on the development of museum business in Kazakhstan. I would like to thank you for your sincere interest and desire to help Kazakhstan in this direction. I hope that this project will become another page in our common history," Aida Balayeva said.
As part of the discussion, the possibility of developing programs that include theoretical and practical training of Kazakhstani specialists was also considered. Special attention is paid to the training of Kazakhstani restorers on the basis of Italian centers, which will allow for the exchange of experience and internships.
Mr. Luigi Oliva presented Italy's achievements in the field of restoration and expressed willingness to cooperate in the training of Kazakhstani specialists.
"We would like to develop different areas and work closely with Kazakhstan. The Central Institute of Restoration in Italy has been in existence for 80 years. It is necessary to create a fully equipped restoration center in Kazakhstan. We visited the National Museum and Laboratories. We got acquainted with the conservation and restoration service, looked at the workshops and the museum's exposition. It is important to note that you have very spacious rooms, which is a great advantage for work. We are always ready to help develop this industry, organize courses and practices, as well as introduce new technologies and methods," he concluded.
Aida Balayeva and Oliva Luigi expressed confidence that joint cooperation will bring long-term results and will be an important contribution to strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between Kazakhstan and Italy.
