From October 2024 to January of this year, 1 billion cubic meters of water was sent to the North Aral Sea. As a result of agreements reached with the countries of Central Asia, the total volume of water sent to the North Aral Sea by the end of March 2025 will reach 1.6 billion cubic meters.

As part of the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State, 8 projects for the construction and reconstruction of group water pipelines were completed in 6 regions of the country in 2024. This improved the quality of water supply to 49 settlements with a population of 208 thousand.

FRANCE
Specialists from the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation underwent an internship at the French Bureau of Geological and Mining Research (BRGM). During the internship, special attention will be paid to studying the BDLISA database, which provides access to information on groundwater, as well as new approaches to water resource management.

In 2024, the Internal Audit Department of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation conducted inspections at 18 enterprises. As a result of the inspection, more than 30 individuals and legal entities were brought to administrative responsibility, and several officials were brought to disciplinary responsibility.

As part of the festival, future applicants received detailed information about working specialties in the water sector and the educational institutions they were interested in. Master classes, panel discussions, and a job fair will also be held.

First Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Bolat Bekniyaz met with students and schoolchildren as part of the republican festival "City of Working Professions". The Vice Minister spoke about the work being done to release water into the Aral Sea and Lake Balkhash, international agreements, and increase the status of water professions.

The "Kazsuchar" branch in the East Kazakhstan region has developed and approved an action plan to prepare for the safe passage of flood waters.
Today, the main structures of the canals have been closed, and electrical equipment and lifting mechanisms have been inspected. A stock of inert materials for flood control measures has been prepared.

AKMOLA REGION
As part of preparations for the flood season, the Kazsuchar branch in the Akmola region is preparing inert materials, clearing the ridges of dams and areas of hydraulic structures from snow, as well as preparing equipment and special equipment.

KARAGANDA REGION
As part of preparations for the flood season, the Kazsuchar branch "K. Satpayev Canal" inspected electrical equipment and lifting mechanisms, and is clearing the entrances to pumping stations and dams from snow. The reservoirs belonging to the branch are ready to receive flood water.
