Within the framework of the implementation of the "Law and Order" measure, coordinated by the capital's prosecutor's office, the police and local executive bodies are fighting vandalism, the official website of the Astana akimat reports.
In 2024, 337 people were brought to administrative responsibility for the intentional destruction and damage of someone else's property, 139 of whom were arrested, and 198 people were fined a total of more than 17.8 million tenge.
For example, on the night of November 26, an Astana resident who, while intoxicated with drugs, deliberately smashed a bus stop window with an iron bar was arrested for 30 days.
In another case, a 37-year-old city resident broke a plastic door to the porch on the afternoon of June 12. He was detained for 25 days.
Another similar incident occurred on October 16 at around 2:30 p.m. on Auezov Street. A 50-year-old city resident intentionally damaged the turnstile of the LLP office, causing damage in the amount of 60 thousand tenge. He was detained for 25 days and the damage was compensated.
The Prosecutor's Office warns residents and guests of the capital that if the act does not contain signs of a criminal offense, a fine of 60 MCI or up to 30 days of arrest will be imposed for intentional destruction or damage to another person's property.
