As of the results of 2024, 522 billion tenge was invested in the regional economy. This is 1.4 times more than in 2023. Of these, the share of private investment amounted to 394 billion tenge, which increased by 1.7 times compared to the previous year. In general, at the end of last year, the indicator for the short-term economic indicator in the region was 114.8%, ranking 2nd in the republic. This was stated by the regional governor Beibit Isabayev during an extended interview with regional media representatives in the studio of the Jetisy TV channel, the press service of the Zhetysu region akim reports.
According to the head of the region, the Asma Industrial industrial battery plant, which created 200 jobs in the industry last year, was put into operation. In addition, the Zhetysu Mazhiko agro-complex, which processes oilseeds, which has been idle for several years, was restarted last year.
- As for this year's plans, a new project for the production of industrial batteries at the Kainar AKB plant in Taldykorgan will be implemented. The cost of the project is more than 10 billion tenge, and it is planned to create 150 jobs. In addition, this year, the largest investment project, a mining and metallurgical plant, will be launched in the Kerbulak district. The cost is 1.3 trillion tenge. The plant will create 2,000 jobs and employ the local population. Last year, a railway line and warehouse buildings were built under this project. And this year, construction and installation work will begin. A plant for recycling household waste is being built on the territory of the "Baskuat" heating boiler house in Taldykorgan, and construction is planned to be completed next year, - said B. Isabayev.
Discussing the transport and logistics potential of the region, the head of the region noted that the special economic zone "Khorgos - East Gate" is a point of economic growth for the region.
For example, at the beginning of the year, a project to build a modern factory for the production of wind generators and energy storage systems began to be implemented. The cost of the project is 40 million US dollars, more than 300 jobs will be created.
By the end of this year, it is expected that the construction of a modern airport by "SKYHANSA" LLP will begin on the territory of the special economic zone. The project will include a cargo and passenger terminal. Its cost is 250 billion tenge.
In short, in 2025-2027, more than 120 investment projects will be implemented in the Zhetysu region, creating more than 10 thousand jobs.
As the regional governor noted, taking into account the instructions of the President of the country, several main areas of development of the region for this year have been identified. Among them are the processing of agricultural products, the development of the industrial sector, tourism, and digitalization.
