On February 17, 2025, a rock mass collapse occurred in the mine at the "Zhomart" mine of "Kazakhmys Corporation" LLP in the Zhanaarka district of the Ulytau region.
7 mine employees remained behind the collapse zone. Currently, rescue operations are being carried out by the rescue units of "ASS Seriktes" LLP.
Forces and means of the Emergency Situations Department of the Ulytau and Karaganda regions, including canine teams, medical workers and psychologists of the Center for Disaster Medicine of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, were immediately sent to the scene.
The Emergency Situations Department Command Center and operational headquarters are operating on the basis of the Emergency Situations Department of the Ulytau region. The "hotline" telephone was organized in the Emergency Situations Department. Phone number: 8 (7172) 55-96-21.
The circumstances of the incident are being determined.
