Astana's utilities have been working around the clock since the beginning of the winter season. Thousands of vehicles and road workers are deployed for snow removal every day, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
During the day shift on February 18, more than 2,500 road workers and more than 1,300 special vehicles were deployed for snow removal.
On the night of February 18, more than 22 thousand cubic meters of snow were removed from the city to snow dumps in 1,733 flights.
Since the beginning of the winter season, more than 5.96 million cubic meters of snow have been removed from the capital in 482,930 heavy truck flights.
First of all, in accordance with the rules, places with the highest traffic intensity are cleared to avoid traffic jams on the roads. Also, areas with medium intensity - squares, areas near the station, sidewalks, entrances to social facilities, etc. will be cleaned.
Cleaning of central streets, places where passenger transport routes pass, stops and sidewalks is also a priority.
There are several equipped snow polygons in the city. They are equipped with a system for reading license plates of dump trucks, video surveillance cameras are installed here, and lighting is turned on.
We ask residents and guests of the capital to be careful on the roads, follow safety rules, and not go on long trips if there is a storm warning.
In case of an emergency, call "112".
