The gasification level in the Zhetysu region is currently 56.5%, that is, 63 settlements have been gasified. And thanks to the implementation of another 63 projects this year, the gasification level will reach 71.4%. Thus, 126 settlements with a population of over 500 thousand people will have access to gas. This was stated by the akim of the region Beibut Isabayev during an extended interview with representatives of the regional media in the studio of the "Jetisy" TV channel, the press service of the akim of the Zhetysu region reports.
- When the region was reorganized, only 5 settlements were supplied with gas, that is, the gasification rate was 29%. This year, the number of settlements provided with gas reached 63, and the gasification rate of the population was 56.5%. As part of the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State, 63 more settlements will be connected to gas by the end of the year, including 45 projects are currently underway, and design and estimate documents for 18 are ready. After the implementation of these projects, by the end of this year, 126 settlements with a population of more than 500 thousand people will be supplied with gas, and the level of gasification of the population will be 71.4%. In addition, we began construction of the gas pipeline "Taldykorgan - Usharal" last year. It will be completed by the end of this year. Design and estimate documentation is being developed for the gasification of 66 settlements in Aksu, Sarkan, Alakol districts. After the construction of the main is completed, gas supply work will begin. As a result, 192 settlements will be gasified, and more than 624 thousand residents of the region, or 91 percent of the population, will have access to gas, - said B. Isabayev.
The head of the region said that the issue of gas tariff integration was taken up a year and a half ago. When studying the reasons for the high cost of gas connection, it was noted that 1-2 companies are monopolists in the gas connection market. However, thanks to the measures taken, it was possible to reduce the cost of gas connection to 170-175 thousand tenge, excluding the boiler and necessary components, through the development of a competitive environment (with a gas pipeline length of up to 25 meters). In addition, 500 million tenge was allocated for the purchase of 1,600 gas boilers within a year and a half, and preferential conditions are provided for residents to pay for boilers in installments for up to 10 months.
