The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with QazaqGaz Aimaq JSC, announces the launch in December 2024 of a pilot project aimed at supporting citizens receiving targeted social assistance (TSA) and housing assistance (ZHP) in the city of Shymkent and the West Kazakhstan region.
As part of the pilot project, residents of these regions who receive TSA and LC will be able to take advantage of a discount on commercial gas through the Social Wallet service on the main page of the eGov Mobile application.
Citizens with the status of TSA and ZHP will receive SMS messages from number 1414 about the availability of discounts in the form of vouchers for commercial gas. Vouchers must be activated in the Social Wallet service.
For the convenience of consumers, it is enough for them to specify only the personal account of the residential address in the application. At the same time, there is no need for consumers to provide documents for housing (own / rented).
The discount amount can reach up to 24% of the accrued amount for gas. The discount applies to the volume of gas consumed within the limits approved by the akimats of Shymkent city (631 m3/month) and West Kazakhstan region (833 m3/month). (When approving consumption standards, such parameters as the average monthly outdoor temperature, the energy efficiency class of the room and other indicators were taken into account).
The pilot project will be implemented over five months, and is also focused on digitalization and scaling to other regions.
The initiative is being implemented within the framework of the Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Fair Kazakhstan: law and order, economic growth, public optimism" dated September 2, 2024, where the Head of State noted the importance of focusing state support on citizens who really need it.
