By presidential decree, First Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Bolat Bekniyaz was awarded the Order of "Kurmet". On the eve of the Republic Day, the state award was presented by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
Bolat Bekniyaz has worked in the field of hydrogeology and water management for 40 years.
He began his career in 1984 as an engineer of the Order of the Red Banner of Labor of the K. Satpayev Institute of Geological Sciences of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR.
Over the years, he worked in senior positions in the Committee of Geology and Subsoil Protection, the Committee on Water Resources of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC Eurasian Water Center and the secretariat of the Security Council. He was Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Water Resources of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Director of the Executive Directorate of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea in Kazakhstan.
