Construction of the country's largest greenhouse complex has begun in the Kelessky district of Turkestan region. The project is being implemented with the participation of Kazakhstani investors, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan (DBK) and with the intellectual and technological support of the Russian holding company ECO-Culture. Operational management will be carried out centrally by a Kazakh management company. Akim of the region Darkhan Satybaldy visited ECOCULTURE-EURASIA LLP, located in Aktobe rural district, and met with representatives of the company.
During the meeting, the head of the region stressed the importance of the project for the region, noting that it will give a powerful impetus to the development of the agro-industrial cluster. The mayor assured that the authorities are ready to provide full support. Darkhan Satybaldy also checked the progress of the construction work of the greenhouse complex.
This project is aimed at increasing the share of domestic products in the domestic market, creating new jobs and improving the welfare of the population. The partnership will not only contribute to the development of the agricultural sector, but also provide local residents with stable jobs with high wages.
Industrial greenhouses will be located on an area of 500 hectares. The project is being implemented in two stages with the support of the ECO-Culture company. The first stage of construction began in 2023 and will be completed in the second quarter of 2025. The completion of the second stage is scheduled for the third quarter of 2025.
The total area of the greenhouse complex will amount to 51.88 hectares, and the total investment volume will exceed 42 billion tenge. After reaching full capacity, the project will allow growing up to 27 thousand tons of vegetables per year and create more than 1,000 jobs.
The greenhouse complex has a number of advantages. Up to 12 varieties of tomatoes and other crops can be grown here at the same time. The complex will provide fresh products at any time of the year, and is also able to flexibly adapt the assortment and production volumes to market demand.
Modern greenhouses will be equipped with an automated climate control system that regulates heating, cooling, lighting, drip irrigation and the content of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
It is worth noting that the instructions of the head of state to attract investments are being actively implemented in the Turkestan region.
