TAZA KAZAKHSTAN: CREATIVE IDEAS WERE PRESENTED IN ATYRAU
Students of Atyrau University named after H.Dosmukhamedov presented creative projects within the framework of the national environmental campaign "Taza Kazakhstan". Young scientists give a second life to household and industrial waste, turning it into beautiful products and building materials.
The main task of Atyrau youth is to support the initiatives of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym–Jomart Tokayev on the care of nature and the formation of eco-culture, voiced in the eco-action "Clean Kazakhstan", as well as to offer creative ideas to solve environmental problems in the country.
"We create products from epoxy resin using glass waste. In this project, we have made sure that we not only prevent pollution, but also create good conditions for the development of small and medium-sized businesses. In the future, we plan to bring our products to the local market. This idea was funded by the university as a startup project," said one of the authors of the project, student Akmaral Sagyngalieva.
Students of the Department of Ecology presented 4 projects to media representatives, such as "Production of sulfur concrete from sulfur waste", "Production of paving stones using cigarette waste", "Production of bioplastics" and "Creation of epoxy resin products using glass waste".
"No one processes cigarette butts right now. We collect them and use them in the manufacture of building materials. To do this, we only need cigarette butts, shards of glass and sand. To achieve the best result, we select sands from different localities. Cigarette butts contain radioactive chemical toxic substances, although we dispose of them a little, we contribute to improving the environment," said Murabek Sabidolla, the author of the project.
To support the initiative of the national action, this year Atyrau University traditionally holds a "Taza beisenbi" campaign every Thursday in order to keep the adjacent territory of the university clean. During the spring and autumn period, students from the embankment of the Zhaiyk River and from the adjacent academic buildings and dormitories collected a total of more than 3 tons of garbage. These activities will be continued in the future.
