The meeting was attended by the head of the region Dastan Ryspekov, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kunsulu Zakaria, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education Talgat Yeshenkulov, Chairman of the Board of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP Nurakhmet Nuriyev and project manager Maksutbek Aitmaganbet.
The Governor of the region noted that for the construction of a joint educational institution with the Canadian university, the akimat allocated a land plot with a total area of 20 hectares in the city of Zhezkazgan, borders were established and a cadastral passport was obtained.
Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kunsulu Zakaria stressed that the university will be of great importance in training high-quality technical personnel. Project manager Maksutbek Aitmaganbet shared plans for the development of the project.
Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education Talgat Yeshenkulov noted that the university is focused on teaching students from Central Asian countries, and not only from the Ulytau region. Accordingly, the university's capabilities in all areas should be improved.
Recall that in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Akimat of the Ulytau region and Kazakhmys Corporation LLP signed a Roadmap "For the construction and operation of the Technical University campus for 2024-2028".
