Since the beginning of the year, the Department of Trade and Consumer Protection in the Ulytau region has brought 243 trade entities to administrative responsibility for non-compliance with trade legislation. Since the beginning of 2024, 226 trade entities have been prosecuted for violating paragraph 1 of Article 9 of the Law "On Regulation of Trade Activities" — exceeding the maximum trade allowance of 15% for socially significant food products, according to Article 204-4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Of these, 195 received a warning, and 31 business entities were fined a total of 572.2 thousand tenge.
As part of the state control measures, the department reduced prices for socially important food products from 5% to 30%. Work is also continuing to prevent the excess of the trade mark-up for these goods in excess of the norms established by law.
Additionally, 15 trade entities were brought to administrative responsibility with fines totaling 173.5 thousand tenge for the sale of goods whose value exceeded that indicated on the price tags of internal and/or external storefronts of retail facilities, as well as for the absence of price tags on the storefronts.
For example, in one of the shops in Zhezkazgan, the price of the goods in the window was indicated as 500 tenge, but the price of 580 tenge was used during the sale, which is higher than indicated. The department's specialists conducted an inspection in this supermarket and brought it to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine.
