A public speaking competition was held among schoolchildren in the capital to mark the 105th anniversary of the poet Zhuban Moldagaliyev, the official website of the Astana akimat reports.
The public speaking competition, organized by the Department of Languages and Archives Development and the Rukhaniyat KSU, was held at the capital’s school-lyceum No. 71. The best coaches of the lyceum, winners of intra-school and city creative competitions took part in it.
The purpose of the event is to comprehensively promote the importance of public speaking and Kazakh history. Special attention was paid to language skills.
“There are many children who are creative among our students. Some are good at drawing, others are interested in vocals, and some are talented in public speaking. "That is why such events help to reveal and develop students' abilities, strengthen their love and respect for their native language," said school principal Maya Mukasheva.
The winner of the competition was 7th grade student Aiyaru Eskozhaeva.
"Even though I have experience in such competitions, I was nervous when I went on stage. I think such events are very useful. We learn new and interesting things for ourselves," said the school student.
Following the results of the competition, the winners and participants were awarded diplomas and letters of appreciation.
