Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Yerkinbayev met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Ahmed Shahin. During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of developing bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism and sports.

Historical and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Egypt have existed for centuries. Today, tourism has become the main direction of interaction between the two countries. Egypt, which has unique natural and historical attractions, is one of the most popular destinations for domestic tourists.

The meeting also discussed the issue of further development of tourist flows between the two countries. Currently, the number of flights between Kazakhstan and Egypt has reached 30 flights per week.

Kazakhstan, in turn, offers Egyptian tourists unique opportunities for recreation and travel. The diverse landscapes of Kazakhstan - from mountain peaks to deserts and lakes - allow for the active development of ecotourism, ethnotourism, business tourism and other areas.

"In order to strengthen bilateral cooperation, I offer the Egyptian side to participate in the KITF international tourism exhibition, which will be held in Almaty on April 23-25 this year. I also offer to exchange information on investment potential and discuss the possibilities of implementing joint projects in the tourism sector," said Deputy Minister E. Yerkinbayev.

The meeting also paid special attention to cooperation in the field of sports. Last year, Egyptian athletes took part in the mask wrestling competition as part of the 5th World Nomadic Games held in Astana. This large-scale project, aimed at developing ethnic culture, sports and tourism, has united the nomadic peoples of the world and attracted the attention of tourists from all over the world.
