President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted at an expanded meeting of the Government that infrastructure development is one of the important priorities of state policy. Within the framework of the implementation of this task, large-scale work is being carried out in the Zhambyl region.
According to Murat Saurykov, Head of the Passenger Transport and Highways Department, in 2024, 16.5 kilometers of roads were built and 1 bridge was built. 3 kilometers of roads were reconstructed, and 690.4 kilometers of roads underwent medium repair.
Roads are the lifeblood of the economy. This year, 23.6 billion tenge was allocated for the repair of local roads and village streets in the region. 146 road repair projects will be implemented with this money.
In particular, 17.7 kilometers of new roads will be built, 8 kilometers of roads will be reconstructed, and 391.4 kilometers of roads will undergo medium repair.
Of the funds allocated to ensure road traffic, 3.4 billion tenge will be allocated. tenge will be directed to the current repair and maintenance of local roads and village streets.
According to the results of this year, it is planned to increase the share of local roads in good and satisfactory condition to 99.5 percent (99% in 2024), and this figure for village streets to 89 percent (87% in 2024).
