In order to instill care for nature and environmental education in the younger generation, projects are being implemented in the capital's schools aimed at involving students in environmental protection issues. One of them is the "Green School" project, which includes various social initiatives, the official website of the Astana akimat reports.

Since the project was launched, 34 events have been held, involving more than 6,200 teachers and more than 125,000 children. As part of the project, training courses were organized for teachers on separate collection of solid household waste, which allowed students to learn the correct methods of waste sorting in practice.

The "Green School" project provides for the organization of greenhouses in educational institutions in Astana. Greenhouses have been installed in 20 schools and colleges where students learn to grow plants. More than 2,000 students who are interested in growing lemon trees, as well as cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries and other berries and vegetables, are participating in the project. Regular seminars for teachers help maintain a high level of environmental education.

A unique example of work within the framework of the large-scale eco-campaign "Clean Kazakhstan" is the experience of school-lyceum No. 8, where 5th grade students have been growing a lemon tree for two years as part of the "Green Club". The lemon tree is now bearing fruit. Similarly, vegetables, strawberries, and mint are growing in the greenhouse.

1,204 high school students are involved in the children's and youth movement "Earth Ambassadors", teaching them the basics of ecology and sustainable development. The ecological green clubs, which have been operating since September, have reached about 27,000 primary and secondary school students, encouraging them to create ecological startups and projects.

As part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" campaign, activities to improve the environment are being actively carried out. Students actively participate in tree planting, landscaping, and garbage collection campaigns such as "Clean Land", "Sacred Place", and "Green Zone". Cleaning and landscaping of veterans' yards and nursing homes have also been organized.

Environmental education activities cover all age groups. Trainings and seminars are held in educational institutions to teach students environmental practices. One of the important steps was the installation of garbage bins for separate collection of garbage in twenty schools. This will allow children and school staff to actively participate in environmental protection.
