A team skiing championship was held in the central park of Astana within the framework of the XV Spartakiad among structural divisions of the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff and the Armed Forces.
33 teams participated in the mass relay race. Each of them consisted of three men and one woman. In addition, men ran 2.5 kilometers, women - one kilometer.
The competition was held in two groups. The first place was won by the team of the Center for Military Representations, the silver medal was won by the team of the Center for Metrological Support and Standardization. The bronze medal was won by the Department of Combat Training.
In the second group, the team of the Department of the Chief of Logistics won, the second place was won by the team of the Main Directorate of the Military Police, and the third place was won by the skiers of the Department of the Chief of Armaments.
In the individual competition among women, Senior Lieutenant Assem Bokaeva, who represented the Center for Metrological Support and Standardization in the first group, came first. The second result was achieved by Sergeant 3rd Class Altynai Smagulova, who graduated from the Pension Service Center, and the third result was achieved by Major Alena Akhimbekova, who defended the honor of the Operational Training Department.
The gold medal among men was won by Colonel Sergey Prokhorov, a representative of the Center for Military Representations. The silver medal went to his colleague Major Sergey Loboda, and the bronze medal went to Colonel Darkhan Akhanov, representing the team of the Center for Metrological Support and Standardization.
In the individual competition among women in the second group, Lieutenant Colonel Ulpan Talap, a representative of the Chief of Arms' Department, was recognized as the best. The second step of the podium was taken by Elena Erastova, an officer of the Armed Forces from the Chief of Rear Services' Department, and the third step was taken by Senior Lieutenant Gulzhan Nusupova, a representative of the Main Directorate of the Military Police.
Among men in this category, Lieutenant Colonel Evgeny Erastov, an officer of the Chief of Rear Services' Department, came first with the best time. In second place was Major Maksat Zhumagazin, a representative of the National Defense University of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and in third place was Sergeant Damir Kunanbayev from the Chief of Rear Services' Department.
The winners and prize-winners of the championship in the team and individual competitions were awarded cups, medals and certificates. The winners and prize-winners were congratulated by the First Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Asan Zhusupov.
It should be noted that tents and catering facilities were set up for the participants and fans of the ski race, where they tasted soldier's porridge and warmed up with tea.
