The children's rehabilitation center is located in one of the buildings of the Shalkar district hospital. Renovation and repair work have been carried out here.
As part of a working trip to the district, the regional akim Askhat Shakharov toured the building of the rehabilitation center.
According to the chief physician of the district hospital Yesengali Kopenov, Alikhan Oil LLP replaced the heating system and electrical wiring in the center, carried out interior finishing work, installed a new elevator, and renovated the facade of the building.
Children with various diseases can undergo rehabilitation at the center. It is able to accommodate children not only from the Shalkar district, but also from the nearby Irgiz district.
A rehabilitologist, neurologist, speech therapist, traumatologist, orthopedist, psychologist provide services. Respiratory gymnastics, play therapy, classes with an audiologist, electrophoresis, salt mine and other procedures are provided here. All necessary equipment was purchased through the Samruk Kazyna National Welfare Fund and the People of Kazakhstan Charity Fund.
“Rehabilitation is provided to children under 18 years of age. A similar center with a similar range of services operates in the regional children's hospital in Aktobe. In addition to our specialists, doctors from the regional hospital provide remote consultations to patients via telemedicine. A license for medical services and services has been obtained. We are waiting for funding from the Social Health Insurance Fund,” said the head physician of the regional hospital.
Today, 852 children are registered with the dispensary in the Shalkar district, 233 children are undergoing rehabilitation. This center can accommodate up to 20 children per shift and 450 small residents per year. There should be 12 medical workers on staff.
The regional akim instructed to resolve the issue of financing and open a rehabilitation center for children in the shortest possible time. The main focus in rehabilitation should be on neurological diseases. As the akim noted, children with mental disorders should always be under the constant supervision of a medical institution.
"The opening of this rehabilitation center is an important step in the framework of the President's instructions to expand access to rehabilitation services for children, especially those who need constant medical support. We are obliged to ensure that our children receive high-quality medical care in comfortable conditions without leaving their district. Therefore, I have ordered to accelerate the financing process and open this center in the shortest possible time. This project is an important part of the program to improve the health and quality of life of our citizens, and we will continue to expand such centers in the region," the akim said.
