Ecology, leadership and fresh ideas: the event for selecting the best school parliament is being held in Astana

During a briefing at the Central Communications Service, Vice-Ministers Zh. Aliyev and N. Sharbiev reported on the results of the activities of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2024.
According to Zh. Aliyev: “According to the results of 2024, a 6% reduction in harmful emissions was achieved among category I facilities of the 50 largest industrial enterprises in the country. In the future, with the introduction of the EPC, a further reduction in emissions is expected due to the transition to integrated environmental permits.
He also spoke about the progress of the implementation of Roadmaps for the integrated solution of environmental problems of the regions, the installation of automated systems for monitoring emissions into the environment (ASM), climate policy issues, the results of inspections for compliance with environmental legislation, the programs for the modernization of the Eco-Farm and the disposal of obsolete vehicles and self-propelled agricultural machinery (VEH and VESSH), as well as the holding of the "Clean Kazakhstan" environmental campaign, etc.
Vice Minister N. Sharbiev in his report invited the participants of the event to contribute 2 billion to the country's forest resources. The meeting discussed the implementation of the Head of State's instructions on tree planting, as well as planting green flags on the Aral Sea dry basin (ODAM), providing planting material for the coming year, protecting forests from fires, equipping nature protection institutions with technical equipment, installing early fire detection systems, developing ecological tourism, and resettling and protecting animals. The speakers also spoke about their plans for the upcoming period and answered questions from media representatives. The city stage of the "Best School Parliament" competition was held in Astana, in which 39 school, lyceum and gymnasium leaders participated, the official website of the capital's akimat reports. The important event aimed at developing students' leadership, social and management skills is being held with the support of the capital's Department of Education. The participants will present their organizations' leading projects on improving the environment and using resource- and energy-saving technologies. The competition consisted of four stages: introducing the school parliament, defending the best project of the year, presenting cases of “Ideas without Borders” and completing the creative task “Creative Management”.
One of the participating teams was school-gymnasium No. 31, led by 11th grade student Aldiyar Aisin. He says that their school parliament is actively involved in charity events, pays special attention to helping children who are brought up in orphanages. The parliament also organizes intellectual games aimed at improving students' knowledge of the history of Kazakhstan, English and Russian, which contributes to successful preparation for the UNT.
Teachers note and support their students' desire for self-development and social activity.
“Members of the school parliament acquire valuable skills that will help them in the future. "In the last year alone, they have held more than 100 different events," says Aigul Sakenova, a teacher at school-gymnasium No. 75.
According to the results of the competition, the winners will have the right to represent the capital at the republican stage, which will be held in Kyzylorda in March. This competition is becoming an important platform for revealing the potential of schoolchildren, demonstrating their initiative and leadership qualities.
