Today, an expert meeting in the "Think Tank" format on urban planning and industrial policy issues was held at Almaty Management University (AlmaU).
The event was organized as part of the visit of the Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Sharlapayev to the university. The meeting was moderated by Vice Minister of Industry and Construction Zhannat Dubirova and President of AlmaU Asylbek Kozhakhmetov.
The discussion was attended by leading specialists in the field of urban planning, territorial development, infrastructure and legal regulation, as well as representatives of the business community and educational institutions. The discussion focused on finding solutions for the sustainable development of the construction industry in Kazakhstan.
The reason for choosing AlmaU as a platform for expert meetings is that the University is not only an initiator of dialogue on key issues of sustainable development, but also an educational institution that actively introduces advanced approaches to education, entrepreneurship and management. For many years, AlmaU has been creating an ecosystem of knowledge and innovation, uniting the best specialists and practitioners in order to develop strategies aimed at developing territories, modernizing infrastructure and improving the quality of the urban environment.
During the meeting, Marat Myrzakhmet, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Scientific Director of the MKB Program, made a report on the topic "Development of a Strategy for Accelerated Technological Diversification of Kazakhstan and a New Industrial Policy" and Askhat Saduov, General Director of the Almatygenplan Research Institute, who presented the strategy and best world practices in urban development. The head of the Research Institute drew attention to the importance of introducing innovative and sustainable approaches to the development of Kazakhstani cities. In his speech, he proposed new solutions for the harmonious integration of infrastructure facilities and residential areas, as well as the need to adapt global trends to the unique characteristics and needs of Kazakhstani megacities.
During the discussion, the participants considered the main challenges facing the construction industry and urban planning in Kazakhstan.
Based on the results of the Think Tank, the participants of the event developed recommendations for the coordination of regulatory legal acts in the field of industrial policy and urban planning, proposed measures to improve interaction with the expert community, and discussed ways to increase the effectiveness of legal and economic mechanisms in construction and territorial planning.
The Think Tank expert meeting was an important step in promoting the sustainable development and modernization of Kazakhstan's infrastructure, as well as in solving urgent problems in the construction industry.
