Last year, about 160 thousand people were provided with free outpatient medicines in Shymkent. These works were carried out within the framework of the Guaranteed Volume of Free Medical Care (GVMC) and the Social Medical Insurance Fund.

According to representatives of the Shymkent city branch of the Social Medical Insurance Fund, medicines were released to citizens registered in the dispensary for about 100 nosologies. In general, the transition to the social medical insurance system has significantly expanded the list of free medicines for adults and children under 18 years of age.

To receive medicines, the patient must visit his local doctor. The doctor monitors the patient's condition and, if necessary, writes a prescription for medicines from the clinic's pharmacy. And all medicines are provided free of charge during emergency, inpatient and outpatient care.
In addition, last year, more than 8 million consultative and diagnostic services were provided under medical insurance.
