On February 24, a working meeting of the Vice Minister of Emergency Situations Batyrbek Abdishev with representatives of the International Scientific and Technical Center (ISTC) was held at the Strategic Planning and Operational Command Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
During the working meeting, the possibilities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations participating in the joint project of the ISTC and the European Union "System for Monitoring Radiation and Heavy Metals in Central Asian Waters" were discussed, which is aimed at assessing and improving existing national systems using standardized technologies and decision-making processes at the regional and national levels.
During the discussion, the main goals, expected results and key milestones of the implementation of this project in the Central Asian region were reviewed, and the effective cooperation of the ISTC with the National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research of the Ministry of Emergency Situations on the installation of seismological sensors was noted.
A short tour of the situation room of the Strategic Planning and Operational Management Command Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was held for the ISTC representatives, during which modern technologies for management and operational response in crisis situations, as well as risk monitoring and forecasting systems, were demonstrated.
Vice Minister: "Developing international cooperation in the field of risk monitoring and forecasting will contribute to increasing the security and stability of the region. The introduction of advanced technologies and the exchange of experience will allow us to improve emergency response and prevention systems." In addition, the work of the Kazakhstani flood forecasting and modeling information system "Tasqyn", which allows calculating water flow into the reservoir, determining the volume of spring floods and modeling flood zones, and the earthquake forecasting system based on artificial intelligence were presented.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed the importance of international cooperation in the field of environmental safety and rapid response to potential threats in order to enhance the sustainable development of the region.
