Akim of Abay region Berik Uali met with deputies of the regional maslikhat. During the meeting, topical issues in the region were discussed, and proposals and opinions were put forward regarding the development of the region.
Speaking at the meeting, the regional akim noted that there are large-scale tasks ahead, many planned projects and plans, and that the maslikhat and local authorities work hand in hand.
“The profound words of our father Shakarim “Your human duty is to serve your people” should become the civic principle of each of us. Today, the burden of responsibility for our region is great. As the saying goes, “The burden of work is light,” ensuring the sustainable development of our region is a common duty. "We must all contribute to the growth and prosperity of the sacred Semipalatinsk, which is considered the golden cradle of Kazakh spirituality and has become the historical center of our country," said the regional head. The regional akim said that all the work that has been started in the region will continue, especially in the areas of agriculture, production, tourism, transport and logistics, attracting investment, and infrastructure projects. In order to increase the region's tourism potential, a Tourism Department will be created in the future. He said that priority will be given to the construction of bypass roads to increase the logistics capabilities of the region, and attention will be paid to attracting funds through the Baiterek National Management Holding and other structures. The deputies shared their suggestions and opinions on improving the region's agriculture, developing small towns, improving streets in the regional center, eliminating the consequences of the Semipalatinsk test site, and attracting medical specialists to villages.
The regional akim noted that the recommendations and opinions from the meeting will be taken into account and included in the special comprehensive program of the region that is currently being developed. "There is a lot of work to be done together with you. I am currently inviting foreign and domestic investors and receiving them daily. We are negotiating the construction of a five-star hotel in Semey. There is a preliminary agreement. I am well aware that there are entrepreneurs among the deputies. I invite you to participate in the prosperity and development of Semey. Contribute to the restoration of your native land within the framework of the social responsibility of business. Let's develop our region together," said the regional akim.
