Yesterday, February 26, a seminar on the topic "Consequences of the use of drugs and psychoactive substances" was held at the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the instruction of the Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 15, 2025, on the basis of subparagraph 2.9) of paragraph 2 of the Model Work Plan of Ethics Commissioners for 2025, approved by the order of the Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 7 dated January 15, 2025, on conducting preventive work to prevent and prevent civil servants from being in a state of alcoholic and narcotic and (or) toxic intoxication in public places, the use of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues, precursors for non-medical purposes, and the organization of seminars and trainings with the involvement of law enforcement officers in order to prevent driving a vehicle in a state of alcoholic and (or) narcotic and (or) toxic intoxication.
The Astana City Police Department, which came to the seminar with a special invitation, participated in the seminar. Counteraction to Drug Crime Senior operational officer for critical cases of the Department of the Interior Ministry, police lieutenant colonel Aliya Kibatovna spoke in detail about the many activities being carried out to prevent drug addiction and detect crimes in the field of illegal drug trafficking, about the various types of drug addiction and their harmful effects on the human body, psyche, and social life.
In addition, she provided statistical data on drug crimes registered in Astana last year and since the beginning of the year, including the fact of drug trafficking, as well as on offenses related to synthetic types of drugs and the total scale of drug crimes, including how many drugs, including "synthetics", were confiscated from illegal circulation.
Also, during the seminar, the law enforcement officer showed the participants a video about leaflets, graffiti images, stamps, seals, QR codes, billboards, and websites that advertise drugs, that is, sell synthetic drugs, and spoke about preventive raids carried out to identify and eliminate them.
The speaker of the seminar A. Kibatovna emphasized the need for society to systematically combat the disease of the century, which leads to the degeneration of the younger generation, as well as adults, by inventing various ways and methods of transporting, selling and hiding drugs, promoting a healthy lifestyle and protecting young people from bad habits, and called on every parent to pay attention to the upbringing of children in the family.
