The deputies of the Karaganda regional maslikhat approved a new regional management scheme at the extraordinary XXIII session. The reorganization is being carried out to increase the efficiency of local government and optimize expenses.

— Making changes to the existing regional management scheme involves optimizing expenses, reducing non-core functions and saving budget funds, — noted the head of the Karaganda region akim's office, Yerlan Galiev.

Several departments will be merged: agriculture and land relations; business and industry; finance and state assets. Also, a tourism management with the function of external relations will be created.
