The 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan officially began at the House of Friendship, and several important events were held to mark the anniversary year and the Day of Thanksgiving, the official website of the capital's akimat reported.
Deputy Akim of Astana Yeset Baiken, noting that the anniversary year was officially launched today, presented the ceremonial unveiling of the memorial plaque "The Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan - 30 Years" to the People's Hero Bakytzhan Ertayev.
He noted that the roots of the Assembly lie in our history, that the Kazakh people have always welcomed guests to their homes with open arms and welcomed them to the throne, and that this tradition has been artistically continued to this day on the basis of the Assembly, which unites all ethnic groups.
After that, the participants of the event gathered at a round table entitled "Under One Roof: The Culture of Gratitude and National Unity".
During the round table, Deputy Akim of Astana Yeset Baiken spoke about the purpose of the round table and the peculiarities of the Day of Thanksgiving
“In the past, this day was celebrated as a day of gratitude to our country by representatives of ethnic groups, but in recent years it has acquired an even broader meaning. The gratitude of every citizen of Kazakhstan has led to selfless respect for employees who have worked honestly, citizens who have shown courage, children for their parents, and young people for their elders. Events held to maintain such respect are always of great importance. Our meeting today also has a special place,” he said, adding that a large-scale city plan has been developed to organize and hold events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in Astana.
During the round table, Dikhan Kamzabekuly, General Director of Kazakh Newspapers LLP, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, L.N. Professor of the Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Candidate of Historical Sciences Tilegen Sadykov and others spoke.
The final part of the round table was marked by a ceremony of awarding certificates of appreciation.
Members of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, representatives of republican public associations, the Council of Elders and the Council of Mothers, and scientific and expert groups participating in the event laid wreaths at the monument "Many thanks to the Kazakh people!"
