Akim of Abay region Berik Uali paid a working visit to Ayagoz district and visited several socially significant facilities. He monitored the progress of preparations for the spring flood and got acquainted with the operation of the heating boiler.
Last spring, the Ayagoz River overflowed its banks and flooded several yards. Last year, work was carried out to strengthen the riverbank to prevent the danger. The regional akim began his working visit to the district by monitoring the water level in the river and instructed the local executive authorities to constantly monitor it.
"We are among the regions at risk of flooding. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen flood preparations. Please consider the issue of expanding the Ayagoz River channel. Please make appropriate proposals," said the regional akim.
According to the Emergency Situations Department, forty-five settlements in the region are at risk of flooding. About four thousand people live in these areas. Currently, the threat persists, especially in 20 villages in the Ayagoz, Beskaragay, Borodulikha, and Kokpekty districts.
