Emergency services rescuers celebrated World Civil Defense Day

Every year on March 1, World Civil Defense Day is celebrated in various countries at the initiative of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO). This year, the events are held under the slogan "Civil Defense - the Guarantee of Public Safety".
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan pays special attention to the issues of informing and educating the population in the field of civil defense. As part of the celebration of World Civil Defense Day, Civil Defense Month is being held. Preventive measures are being carried out in all regions of the country through tactical and special training exercises, preparatory trainings, thematic lectures and open classes, as well as the distribution of information and educational materials. This work is aimed at increasing the population's readiness to respond to emergencies.
An exhibition of equipment, equipment and tools was organized at the "Astana" square in Almaty. Almaty residents were explained the procedure for responding to emergencies of a natural and technogenic nature. The deployment of the Emergency Medical Center of the Emergency Situations Ministry, equipped with the necessary equipment for conducting various operations in the field for up to 15 days, and its work were unique. About 200 personnel and 60 units of equipment participated in the solemn event.
Rescuers organized an exhibition of equipment on the square near the Palace of Culture of Metallurgists of Ust-Kamenogorsk, introducing residents and guests of the region to modern equipment and tools used in the fight against emergencies. Each of the participants saw with their own eyes the new high-mobility equipment that came to the attention of the Emergency Situations Ministry and even got to sit on them. The Toyota Hilux emergency vehicles, which allow combating natural emergencies in the conditions of the mild climate of the region, as well as equipment for driving in snowy and swampy areas, impressed the public. New fire trucks, auto-cranes, highly effective drones and combat equipment impressed the residents.
During the event, emergency situation workers told about the rules of action in ice, fires and earthquakes. Doctors from the Center for Disaster Medicine showed a master class on how to resuscitate a victim. The canine service introduced Labrador rescuers who serve as rescuers and conduct search operations. Servicemen of the Second Rescue Battalion introduced citizens to the specifics of the profession and the rescue equipment used when coming to the rescue in an emergency.
In Pavlodar, rescuers demonstrated emergency rescue equipment and equipment. Residents of the regional center had a unique opportunity not only to see modern rescue equipment, but also to personally try them out in action. Guests of the event were able to put on the combat uniforms of rescuers, sit in special equipment and get acquainted with the operation of the equipment used in the elimination of emergency situations. Fire trucks, hydraulic equipment and protective suits aroused special interest among children and adults. Volunteers from the "Red Moon" organization actively participated in the event. They organized hot tea and sweets, creating a warm and fun atmosphere for residents.
Pavlodar rescuers also held a mass competition. The sporting event was aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle, the profession of a rescuer in society, and strengthening team spirit. The large-scale competition was held on the Central Embankment, one of the favorite recreation areas of Pavlodar residents. More than 250 participants ran the entire distance along the embankment, starting from the "Nikitinsky embankment" and finishing at the Irtysh Promenade stage. The rescuers showed excellent physical fitness, as the specifics of their work require endurance and strength to withstand heavy loads.
Special events dedicated to the field of civil defense were organized in the rural districts of the Zhetysu region. As part of the event, an exhibition of special equipment and equipment for firefighters and rescuers was organized for schoolchildren and villagers. Participants had the opportunity to see the operation of emergency and rescue vehicles with their own eyes and get acquainted with the equipment used in emergency situations.
Training and exercises for evacuation actions were held in schools. This was a practical lesson aimed at teaching students how to behave in an emergency situation and explaining the basic safety rules.
An exhibition of modern special equipment and new emergency rescue equipment under the control of the Department and the 2nd rescue battalion of military unit 20982 was organized in Uralsk. During the exhibition, students and pupils put on rescue suits and got acquainted with the work of dog handlers and rescuers. At the end of the event, the children were served freshly cooked meals and hot tea.
Civil Defense Day is an important international date aimed at preventing emergencies, creating a culture of public safety, and increasing knowledge in the field of civil defense. Rescuers called on the population to pay attention to the importance of emergency preparedness and reminded of the need to be prepared for any danger in advance. Knowledge and skills in the field of civil defense are the key to a safe life.
