A meeting with a delegation from Tencent was held at the Ministry of Digital Development. The parties discussed key indicators, key areas of bilateral cooperation and joint projects.
Tencent is a major technology player in global innovation, and the Ministry of Digital Development plans to consider cooperation with this organization and its full entry into the Kazakhstani market. This will help attract new technologies to the country, increase the technological potential of the innovation system, and provide domestic innovators with additional access to the global innovation ecosystem. In addition, one of the main tasks of the Government is to attract advanced innovative companies to the country, which can contribute to the formation of the innovativeness of the domestic economy.
Today, the Central Digital Development and Information Technology Center has significantly intensified its work on the development of artificial intelligence within the framework of its activities. One of the key projects in this regard is the creation of the International AI Center - alem.AI. This center will be a center for attracting artificial intelligence innovations and a generator of key AI technologies. It is planned to attract Bigtech companies from all over the world to this center for experience exchange, training and implementation of joint projects. At the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of locating the company's office in the alem.AI center and creating the Tencent AI lab division, which will be engaged in research and development in artificial intelligence.
The parties also discussed the issues of creating and expanding data centers in Kazakhstan, Tencent's participation in infrastructure projects, and developing a local cloud platform for the public and private sectors. Tencent, with its vast expertise, technologies, and resources, is able to significantly simplify and accelerate the process of creating data processing centers and computing power.
One of the important and key areas of the ministry is cybersecurity and personal data protection. On this occasion, issues of protection against DDoS attacks, fraud, malicious content, exchange of experience and technologies, Security Cloud and AI models were considered.
At the meeting, Minister Zhaslan Madiev also touched upon the development of the digital economy and IT ecosystem in the country, including the development of artificial intelligence, participation in accelerators, implementation of educational projects, opening joint laboratories, support for initiatives such as eCommerce and fintech.
