Today, March 3, the Governor of Mangystau region Nurdaulet Kilybay received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan Bakhtiyor Ibragimov. The parties discussed the issues of expanding cooperation between the two countries in the trade, economic, and investment spheres.
During the meeting, Nurdaulet Kilybay emphasized the importance of trade and economic partnership between Uzbekistan and Mangystau and noted his intention to implement large-scale projects in the future.
- Uzbekistan is our neighboring country. Today, enterprises with Uzbek capital are operating in various fields in the Mangystau region. We are interested in deepening business ties with Uzbekistan. There are major projects ahead that need to be implemented. The presence of two seaports and the location of our region in the border region provides great opportunities. Therefore, we are ready for mutually beneficial and productive partnership, - said Nurdaulet Kilybay.
In turn, Ambassador Bakhtiyor Ibragimov shared his future plans and expressed his readiness to implement joint projects and further strengthen partnership.
It should be noted that the Republic of Uzbekistan is one of the main foreign trade partners of Mangystau region. According to the results of 2024, the bilateral trade turnover amounted to 8.8 million US dollars. Of which, the volume of exports is 4.8 million dollars, and imports are 4 million dollars.
Kazakhstan mainly exports gas condensate, fire extinguishers, chemical industry products, metal products and analytical devices to Uzbekistan, while vegetables and fruits, dried fruits, nuts, textiles, footwear, construction materials, household appliances and vehicles are imported from Uzbekistan.
