The 11th meeting of the Kazakhstan-China Commission for Environmental Cooperation was held

On February 28, 2025, the 11th meeting of the Kazakhstan-China Commission for Cooperation in the Field of Environmental Protection was held online.
The event was opened by the co-chairman of the Chinese side, Vice Minister of Ecology and Environment of the PRC, Ms. Guo Fan. From the Kazakh side, the meeting was chaired by the Vice Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, M.T. Oshurbbayev.
In his opening speech, Vice Minister M. Oshurbbayev noted the importance of strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China in solving environmental problems. He noted that both countries face challenges such as air, water and soil pollution, waste management, water scarcity and the consequences of climate change, which require joint efforts and exchange of experience.
Special attention was paid to the activities of the two working groups, such as monitoring the quality of transboundary river waters and rapid response to emergencies.
During the meeting, the parties approved the work plan of the commission for 2025, which provides for the holding of meetings of the working groups and the 12th meeting of the commission.
At the end of the event, the minutes of the 11th meeting of the commission were signed, which confirmed the agreements reached.
