Today, in accordance with the instructions of the regional akim Nurdaulet Kilybai, the deputy akim of Mangystau region Askar Kanybekov paid a working visit to the Tupkaragan district and met with representatives of the region's fisheries sector. The meeting was attended by fishermen and industry veterans from the region, and topical issues of the industry were discussed.
The Mangystau region is distinguished by its climatic conditions and geographical location near the "Great Water".
Of the 33 sites approved for commercial fishing in the Caspian Sea, 22 sites belong to the Tupkaragan district.

609 fishermen are engaged in commercial fishing in the Mangystau region on a seasonal basis, and 105 fishermen are engaged in permanent fishing. Of these, 432 fishermen are registered from the Tupkaragan district.
A fishing limit of 11,152 tons was approved for the Mangystau region for 2023-2024, and the fishing limit was increased by 69.3% to 36,268 tons for 2024-2025, at the proposal of the Mangystau region akimat. Of these, the sprat limit was 33,172 tons (in 2024 - 8 thousand tons).

Fishermen engaged in fishing in the Caspian Sea raised the issue of permission to go out to sea at night. According to the current legislation on the border, it is prohibited to go out to sea at night with small-sized boats that are not equipped with special equipment (lights, trackers, etc.).
In this regard, this issue was considered at a meeting chaired by the deputy akim of the region. During the meeting, the proposals of fishermen were listened to and issues of ensuring their safety were discussed.
The deputy akim of the region noted that ways to resolve this issue together with the border service and the transport inspection will be considered. As a result of joint work with relevant state bodies, the requirements of fishermen will be taken into account and a decision will be made within the framework of the law.
Atash also visited the workshop of the fish processing company "Atash Fish Prom" LLP in the settlement and the Tupkaragan Humanitarian and Vocational College. He got acquainted with the work of the workshop on the specialty "Fish Production" taught at the college. In particular, he visited the workshops "Welding", "Technical maintenance, repair and operation of motor vehicles", "Sewing production".
