The National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan is actively involved in eliminating the consequences of spring floods and conducting flood prevention measures.

In the city of Petropavlovsk, servicemen of Military Unit 6637 of Regional Command "Oрталық" have joined the efforts. Since early March, about 60 soldiers have been deployed in the village of Teplichnoye, where they have prepared over 7,000 sandbags and built artificial barriers to protect the settlement.

Additionally, around 100 servicemen from Military Unit 6697 stationed in Kostanay are assisting in flood response efforts in Arkalyk, Turgai District, and Akkol village. They have already constructed protective barriers using over 10,000 sandbags filled with inert materials.

Furthermore, 60 servicemen from Military Unit 5546 and 34 specialists from the regional Department of Emergency Situations are continuously working on strengthening riverbanks in the village of Miyaly in the Kyzylkoga District. Their primary objective is to prevent river overflow and minimize the risk of flooding.

National Guard servicemen and emergency response personnel are actively reinforcing dams near a bridge on the outskirts of the district, where there is a high risk of river overflow. The work is being carried out in two shifts: one team fills sandbags, while the other reinforces the shoreline. So far, over 6,500 sandbags have been laid, and flood prevention measures have been implemented. The entire operation is under the strict supervision of local authorities and competent services.

It is worth noting that food and heating stations have been set up for the personnel, and local residents have expressed their gratitude to the National Guard command for their prompt assistance.

In addition to constructing protective barriers, National Guard servicemen are ensuring security in flood-prone areas. They are assisting residents whose homes are at risk of flooding and taking all necessary measures to protect citizens and their property.
