Director of the Kazakh Scientific Center of Dermatology and Infectious Diseases convicted
05.04.2025 22:42:15 1455In line with the Head of State’s instructions, the Anti-Corruption Agency continues its efforts to ensure the principle of legality and order in society, as well as to prevent corruption.
On March 19, the Medeu District Court of Almaty convicted the director of the Kazakh Scientific Center of Dermatology and Infectious Diseases B. Baiserkin, his deputy A. Abishev and the director of the International Institute for Postgraduate Education A. Tolemisova.
B. Baiserkin was found guilty of accepting a bribe of KZT 5 mln from the entrepreneur A. Tolemisova, with the help of his deputy A. Abishev, in exchange for facilitating the smooth execution of work and services under a consortium agreement for the professional development of medical workers.
The court sentenced B. Baisserkin and A. Abishev to 4 years of imprisonment each.
In the same verdict, A. Tolemisova was convicted for giving a bribe to the aforementioned officials and sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment.
The convicted individuals are permanently banned from holding positions in the public service and in quasi-governmental institutions.
The court ruling has not yet entered into legal force.
In accordance with subparagraph 1 of paragraph 3 of Article 77 of the Constitution and part 1 of Article 19 of the Criminal Procedure Code, everyone is presumed innocent until their guilt is established by a legally effective court verdict.
