Kazakhstan and Hungary interested in strengthening cooperation in the field of media services

Budapest, March 26, 2025 - Abzal Saparbekuly, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary, met with Anita Altorjai, the Chief Executive Officer of Duna Media Service.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the development of relations between Kazakhstan and Hungary in the field of media, including news exchange and the implementation of joint media projects.

During the meeting, the Abzal Saparbekuly informed the interlocutor about the upcoming major events in Kazakhstan, such as the Astana International Forum and the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. He also mentioned Kazakhstan's efforts to provide Hungarian society with quality Kazakh news in the socio-political, socio-economic, foreign policy and cultural-scientific spheres.

According to the Kazakh diplomat, the "Kazinform" International News Agency and Jibek Joly TV channel have great potential for cooperation in this area.

Anita Altorjai has stated that Hungary, in its capacity as an observer member of the Organization of Turkic States, is currently interested in cooperating with Kazakh media and TV services in the framework of the recently established Alliance of Turkic News Agencies (ATNA).

It should be noted that Duna Media Service Provider was created in 2015 from the merger of the former MTV, Hungarian Radio, Duna TV and MTI, and is a member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
