An extended meeting of the Council for Interaction with Local Representative Bodies (Maslikhats) under the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan is being held in Astana. During the discussion, issues of development of the agro-industrial complex, rural areas and environmental protection were voiced.

The meeting participants emphasized the need for an integrated approach to the development of the agro-industrial complex, including stimulating the production of competitive products, supporting farms and modernizing infrastructure. Particular attention was paid to ensuring food security for the country and increasing the export potential of the agricultural sector.

Discussing the development of rural areas, the Council members noted the importance of creating favorable conditions for living and working in rural areas, including ensuring access to quality education, health care and cultural services. The need to develop rural infrastructure, including roads, electricity and water supply, was emphasized.
