Recently, the organization of illegal lottery games on social networks has become more frequent. This forces citizens to purchase dubious tickets, services and goods.

In this regard, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Financial Monitoring Agency conducted monitoring on social networks and identified those who organized illegal lotteries. As a result, since February 2024, 106 people have been brought to administrative responsibility and fined 46 million tenge.

Let us recall that in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Lotteries and Lottery Activities", it is prohibited to hold lotteries by persons who are not lottery operators or their agents. In accordance with Article 445-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for the illegal organization of lottery activities, liability is provided for such actions. If an unauthorized lottery is organized, a fine of 100 to 2,000 MCI is imposed by law, and the proceeds are confiscated.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan calls on citizens not to organize and participate in illegal lotteries on social networks.
