The implementation of the "Golden Youth" program continues in the Karaganda region. Many organizations are hiring employees of retirement age. The program helps them not only find a job, but also feel that they are needed in society.
Svetlana Zharmagambetova is one of the participants in the "Golden Youth" competition. She worked at Karaganda University named after E. A. Buketov for 41 years. She began her career at the age of 18 as a secretary, then became a laboratory assistant, senior laboratory assistant. She retired in 2015. Now she is 68 years old, and she works as an office manager at Qamqor plus.
- The importance of work is to feel useful. I have been helping students all my life. I continue to do this now. Thanks to the program, I do not feel isolated from society. Communication with people rejuvenates me, - says Svetlana Zharmagambetova.
Zhanyl Ryskulova retired 10 years ago. For a long time she worked as a personnel inspector. Now she has a job at the TAT Logistic TC.
- My children live in other cities, and I am often alone. And the program was a good opportunity for me to return to my favorite job. If health allows, why not work? I know my strength and my potential, - says Zhanyl Ryskulova.
The program is financed from the regional budget. Employers who accept retirees receive compensation in the amount of 50% of the employee's salary, but not more than one minimum wage (in 2025 - 85 thousand tenge). Despite this limit, the pension increase will be significant, since the employer pays the remaining part of the salary.
Nurzhan Syzdykov, head of the Labor Mobility Center for the Karaganda region, noted that 317 people have been employed under the program. Among them are teachers, accountants, managers, and security guards. This year, it is planned to find jobs for 400 pensioners.
