Astana is the center of international dialogue. It rightfully deserves the title of a city of peace and harmony. Such a statement was made today at an extraordinary meeting of the Assembly of Representatives of Religious Associations of Kazakhstan, which was held in Astana.

The meeting of clergymen on the theme "Astana is the spiritual center of peace and harmony" was dedicated to the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan - the city of Astana.

The meeting was presided by the Chairman of the Religious Affairs Committee of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Civil Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erkin Ongarbayev. It was attended by leaders of religious associations, theologians, and experts.

“The development of the new capital has fundamentally changed the whole Kazakhstan, turned it into an economically strong and politically stable state, a responsible and authoritative international partner,” said Chairman of the Religious Affairs Committee Erkin Ongarbayev, speaking about the significance of the achievements of the capital.

Since 2003, Astana hosts the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions every three years, which helps strengthen interfaith harmony in the world.

Religious leaders of the country noted that the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan shows the entire global community an example of nationwide consensus and consolidation of society.

Following the meeting, representatives of religious associations of Kazakhstan accepted a joint congratulation to the people of Kazakhstan on the anniversary holiday of the capital.
